Session Description

Heavy trucks and buses have always demanded special attention from safety technology developers and regulators. From the obvious safety issues that result from the sheer size and weight of heavy vehicles to the changing requirements of the individuals who drive them, ITS has continued to play a critical role. Join our panel of experts for a discussion about some of the newest onboard safety technologies in the commercial trucking and passenger bus industries, what recent steps government has taken to regulate them, and how to migrate these applications into the greater ITS framework.

Invited Speakers:

Jonathan Mueller, General Engineer, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

John Woodrooffe, Director, Transportation Safety Analysis, University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute

Brian Heath, President, Intelligent Imaging Systems & I-95 Corridor Coalition
