Description of Paper:
There are already several tolling schemes which include passenger cars. The technology is mainly DSRC, infrared or even manual booking.Looking into the GNSS based tolling market, the technology is still only deployed in truck tolling schemes. And this is going to change.Netherlands, Singapore, the UK and other countries are now strongly working towards implementation of a GNSS based passenger car tolling scheme. But how will the OBU for passenger cars look like? The paper will adress questions like:Can tolling be done via smart phone?Wil OBUs for passenger cars be OEM installed? What will be the technical requirements on the OBUs?What about interoperability?
