The First Ever Large-Scale Refurbishment of ETC System in Tokyo Metropolitan Area

Description of Paper:
NEXCO-East(East Nippon Expressway Company Limited.) newly introduced theNext-Generation-Style(2G-Style) ETC system into 7 tollgates/17 lanes in Hokkaido, north island in Japan, in 2009. Moreover, we replaced 15 tollgates/62 lanes managed by Kanto Reagional Branch with 2G-Style ETC system in 2010. That was the first large-scale renewal of ETC facilities in metropolitan area in Japan.
