Session Description

When vehicles talk to each other, what should they say? In January, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) tried to answer that question with a new competition for great ideas called the Connected Vehicle Technology Challenge. The national online competition received dozens of innovative ideas for new applications, devices, products, business solutions that could improve transportation's role in safety and quality of life. The only requirement was that each idea had to be based on DSRC technology. Through this Challenge, the DOT aimed to develop new ideas and connect inventors with potential partners that might help bring the concepts to life. During this session the six awarded submissions will present their great ideas to an audience of ITS experts, business professionals, and potential investors in the development of their concepts.
